At Peakminds Psychology Services, we provide comprehensive assessment, consultation, and intervention services for children, adolescents, and adults facing academic, social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Position Details
Location: Toronto (in-person & remote) or Collingwood (in-person)
Hours: 15-20 hours per week, with potential for full-time expansion
Salary Compensation: competitive including benefits such as Dental and health after probational period. Pension contributions after a period of time at Peakminds
Responsibilities
Psychological & Psychoeducational Assessments
- Conduct clinical interviews and diagnostic assessments
- Identify learning disabilities, ADHD, ASD, intellectual delays, and giftedness
- Assess emotional, behavioral, and social difficulties
- Provide comprehensive reports, diagnostic letters, and feedback sessions
Therapy, Supervision, & Consultation
- Deliver individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults
- Implement evidence-based treatments (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT, EFT, Mindfulness)
- Offer individualized recommendations for academic, social, and emotional growth
- Support clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, emotion regulation, and relationship issues
- Participate in risk assessments and crisis response
- Provide referrals to community resources
- Collaborate with parents, educators, and community agencies to enhance client success
- Advocate for clients and develop prevention and intervention programs
- Supervise practicum students, interns, and supervised practice candidates
Clinic-Related Activities
- Report writing
- Developing of training manuals
- Record keeping
- Communication and liaising with clients and staff
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Registration
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Psychology (School, Clinical, or Counselling)
- Registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO)
- Individual liability/malpractice insurance (per CPO requirements)
Experience & Technical Skills
- Strong technological proficiency, particularly in MS Office Suite
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and interpersonal communication skills
- Familiarity with privacy laws, IEP development, and psychoeducational services
Preferred Assets
- Experience working in schools, mental health clinics, or private practice
- Competence in assessments and psychological treatments for children, adolescents, and adults
- Ability to provide counselling to adults and children
