Matthew is a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying) with the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario). He holds a Masters Degree in Education Counselling from Acadia University in Wolfville Nova Scotia, and an Undergraduate Honours Specialization degree in Social Welfare and Social Development with a Major in Religions and Cultures from Nipissing University in North Bay. Matthew is currently completing his Education Doctorate in the field of psychotherapy at the University of Toronto.

Matthew offers a down-to-earth approach that honours compassionate care, and support for children (7+), adolescents, adults, partners, families, and others, which all have their complex difficulties. Matthew has worked with work-related injuries, positive aging, anxiety, depression, trauma, post traumatic stress disorder, relationship problems, grief and complex loss, supporting family with their children, school related difficulties, autism, ADHD, obsessive compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, emotional difficulties, and many others. Matthew’s experience, extensive education and egalitarian approach allow space for clients’ to better manage difficulties they are experiencing in their life. Matthew is an eclectic practitioner (drawing from different models of practice to fit your needs) which include, but are not limited too, a Person Centered Approach, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness and Guided Visual Imagery Practices, Positive Aging Strengths Based Solution Focused Modalities, Trauma informed practice utilizing a Tri-phasic model of care, Emotion Focused, and other existential (creating your own meaning in life) and psychodynamic (helping explore the unconscious) practices.

Matthew looks forward to chatting with you and hopes that together you can find some solutions if not are able to process things in a more complete manner, so it weighs less on the soul.
