What is Depression and Anxiety
Depression and anxiety are both common mental health disorders that can significantly impact daily life, but they have different characteristics.

- Changes in sleep patterns (insomnia or oversleeping)
- Changes in appetite or weight
- Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
- Feelings of worthlessness or guilt
- Thoughts of death or suicide
Anxiety
Anxiety disorders involve excessive worry or fear that can interfere with daily activities. Common types include generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, and social anxiety disorder. Symptoms may include:
- Constant worry or apprehension
- Restlessness or feeling on edge
- Difficulty concentrating
- Physical symptoms such as increased heart rate, sweating, or trembling
- Avoidance of certain situations due to fear
Connection Between the Two
Depression and anxiety often coexist, and individuals may experience symptoms of both disorders. While they are distinct conditions, they can influence and exacerbate each other.
