5 Signs you may have Insomnia

Insomnia

You stare at the ceiling; you toss and turn. Your body feels tired, but your mind is fresh. You look at the clock and you count the hours you have left! No matter how much you convince yourself you cannot fall asleep.

Insomnia is the difficulty to fall asleep. This could be because of a habit, sleep health, lifestyle, or even a medical condition. This could last for days to months and you may not know why. Here are some signs that will tell you that you are an insomniac.

  1. Walking up in the middle of the night and not falling a sleep

It is too hard to fall asleep and when you do fall asleep you wake up in the middle of the night for no reason. It happens! There might be a lot of thoughts bombarding in your head, all of a sudden you can hear yourself. You will be tired physically, but your head won’t rest. You won’t know what to do. It is normal to wake up in the night to use the restroom or to drink a glass of water, but if you have insomnia, it is close to impossible to fall asleep within 30 mins.

  1. Fatigue

It is just 12 pm and you feel like your done for the day! You know you feel tired that you can’t do anything. You are not energized rather you feel drained. Physically and mentally, you are tired. You lose motivation, you give up easily, you can’t do the regular activities and your work gets piled up.

  1. Mood swings and behavioral changes

Sleep-deprived people are often moody! They feel irritated. If you feel like you’re depressed often, you have no interest in your hobbies anymore, you cannot get productive, you just want to be alone and not get along with people, you are filled with this rage that you have never experienced or you feel you have lost it, then sleep is all you need! A simple sound can make you angry and you may end up yelling at someone, you did not mean to for no reason.

  1. Inability to concentrate

Without sleep you will feel drowsy all day, weak and lost. You will have no energy to do any of your work. You will feel lazy and will want to take a day off. Your ability to make a judgement or decision will be compromised and will often end up either taking the wrong call or doing nothing. Frequent occurrence may be a sign of insomnia.

  1. Memory

You forget simple tasks. Your head is blank. Your memory is foggy and you cannot remember the thing you did a couple of hours before. You will forget your deadline, appointments, and tasks, you will forget where you wrote it done. Your performance at work or school will below and you will lose track of a lot of things.

If you pictured yourself while reading the above, you probably have insomnia and need help. It is best to get this fixed at the earliest.
