A comprehensive assessment for adults needing an updated assessment, needing accommodations, and/or who are pursuing post-secondary education
Assessments for Standardized Examinations
We provide psychoeducational assessments for standardized examinations such as the MCAT, GRE, and LSAT, to name a few.
This assessment will help determine the need for accommodations for the completion of these examinations. There is an additional charge for this type of assessment as the institutions issuing these examinations have specific requirements for the report.
Q. Do I need an assessment?
If you have had a previous assessment before post-secondary school, you will likely need to get an updated assessment. If you're looking for accommodations at a post-secondary institution or need accommodations for a test such as the MCAT, you will need an assessment completed.
Q. What if I need to cancel my appointment?
Please let our receptionist know via phone or email if you need to cancel your assessment. If you cancel within 48 hours of the assessment, your $100 deposit will be used as a cancellation fee. The receptionist can help you reschedule your appointment for another date.
Q. What if I need to cancel my appointment on the weekend?
You will not be able to reach the receptionist on the weekend, so you can call or text to cancel or reschedule your appointment:
Dr. Syb Pongracic: 905-858-4400
Q. Should I have a copy of the assessment report sent to my family doctor?
Your family doctor will benefit from receiving a copy of this report, as well as any other reports that are prepared by other healthcare providers. This will allow your physician to have a complete picture of your profile. If you are claiming this assessment as a medical expense, it is helpful if our records show that we have sent a copy to your physician.
Q. How and when do I pay?
Our staff will provide you with an invoice before the assessment with the breakdown of costs. Payment is due the day of the assessment through e-transfer or credit card. We will send you an e-receipt once the invoice is paid, which you can use for any insurance claims.
Although the services of a psychologist are not covered by OHIP, most employers have major medical insurance plans covering the services of a registered psychologist, and, therefore, all or part of the assessment cost may be covered. The services of a psychologist may also be claimed as an income tax deduction.
Q. Will my medical insurance cover any portion of the cost of this assessment?
Clients with prescription or dental plans may also have benefits that include the services of a registered psychologist, such as psychotherapy or psychological assessment. Each insurance carrier has benefits that vary from approximately $500 per person per year to significantly higher coverage.
