Dr. Syb Pongracic, Psychologist

Dr. Syb Pongracic received her doctorate (Ph.D.) from Ryerson University. She is a registered clinical psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, Board of Examiners in Georgia, USA, and PSYPACT (online provider to participating states).  She is a CBT-certified clinician by the Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies - CACBT. Dr. Pongracic is a certified practitioner in Internal Family Systems, Level 1.

Dr. Pongracic has been providing assessment and psychological services to adults, adolescents, and children with various mental health disorders. Her clinical focus includes mood and anxiety disorders, insomnia, traumatic stress disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), grief and bereavement, and work-life problems.

Dr. Pongracic draws on evidence-based modalities, skills, and interventions from psychotherapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, and Internal Family Systems, to name a few. Dr. Pongracic has extensive psychodiagnostic, psychoeducational, and psychovocational assessment experience to help identify learning disorders, attention hyperactivity-deficit disorder, autism spectrum disorder, neurodevelopmental, and mental health disorders.

Currently, Dr. Pongracic provides clinical services in her private practice in Ontario and the United States.  She is a clinical supervisor to post-doctoral candidates wishing to become registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, Board of Examiners in GA, practicum students, and interns.  She teaches students in the psychometry course provided by Peakminds and provides consultation to professionals and agencies.  Her leadership roles include serving as the chair on the Continuing Education (CE) Committee (2024-2025) and a committee member in the Clinicians in Independent Practice on the Georgia Psychological Association.  Dr. Pongracic is currently involved in a clinical research project at Lethbridge University on micronutrients and ADHD.

Dr. Pongracic was a clinical consultant and supervisor in the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program at the Centre for Addiction & Mental Health (CAMH) from 2017 - 2020. During that time, she provided clinical, teaching, training, and supervision to clients as well as clinicians in the delivery of CBT.  She provides clinical assessment and therapeutic services at Teladoc and sites in the USA.

Dr. Pongracic’s doctoral research was on the neuropsychology and behavioural economics in individuals with OCD. She has been published in the areas of OCD, posttraumatic stress disorder, social determinants of post-secondary education, and early-onset schizophrenia. She has undergraduate degrees from the University of Toronto and the University of Guelph in Chemistry, Environmental Analysis, and Computer Science. She has worked at several mental health centers and hospitals in Ontario that included individual and group clinical services, training, and mentoring at CAMH, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Brampton Civic Hospital, University of Toronto Psychology and Counselling Centre, St. Michael’s Family Health Team, and the Oshawa Counselling & Psychology Centre.
